SENATOR GILL ANNOUNCES ROAD IMPROVEMENT GRANTS
TRENTON - Senator Nia H. Gill today announced more than $1.1 million in State grants for road improvements in the 34th Legislative District.
A These grants represent direct property tax relief and quality of life improvements for local residents, said Senator Gill, D-34.
The State grants and the projects they will fund are $249,000 for pedestrian and bicycle path improvements in Montclair; $200,000 for repaving various streets in Glen Ridge; $158,000 for the reconstruction of Rutherford Boulevard in Clifton; $150,000 for the reconstruction of Cedarhurst Avenue from Mount Pleasant Avenue to the dead end in West Paterson; $141,000 for the reconstruction of Princeton Street and two separate grants of $109,000 and $100,000 for reconstruction of Rutledge Avenue, all in East Orange.
The grants were approved through the Department of Transportations Municipal Aid Program, Senator Gill said.
