GILL SECURES $50,000 FOR EAGLE FLIGHT SQUADRON
MONTCLAIR - Senator Nia H. Gill delivered the keynote address at the Eagle Flight Squadron's Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday May 28 th at the Essex Manor in Bloomfield . During the event, Senator Gill presented the organization with a check for $50,000, a legislative grant awarded to the organization to support its activities.
“The Eagle Flight Squadron is an innovative non-profit organization that serves as an excellent model for serving our community's youth. Many of the program's graduates have gone on to become commercial pilots, college graduates, attorneys, and occupy other successful fields in the business arena.†Senator Gill said. “Community programs such as these must be supported. That's why I fought for the funding.â€
The mission of the Eagle Flight Squadron, Inc. is to build children's lives by providing them with the opportunity to develop trade and educational skills particularly relation to the aviation industry, while at the same time instilling the necessary character traits for success in the business world and throughout life. They have been serving the community for 30 years under the direction of Rev. White. The participants complete a flight curriculum, leadership training, and life skills curriculum.
